Father Joe Hopwood, Rector
Father Joe is known for his caring manner, children’s story-time, thoughtful sermons and great sense of humor. Father Joe is a serious priest who does not take himself seriously. He is a former junior high school science teacher and a college biology professor. As a father of four children and ten grandchildren, Father Joe and his wife, Barbara, understand the real world needs and concerns of others. They have been at Saints Martha and Mary since 2002.
Father Bruce Henne, Retired Priest
Father Bruce, a native of Michigan, moved here from Idaho. Father Bruce and Father Joe have been friends for more than 30 years. Father Bruce has a humorous and teaching preaching style that emphasizes how our lives connect with the Gospel. He does not preach from text or even from the lectern. If you are looking for a “high church” service, you won’t find it here. Father Bruce says he has, “a hard time not giggling if there were a high church service with many candles, incense and formality. Fr. Bruce and his wife, Penny, have two sons and four grandchildren. They been at Saints Martha and Mary since September 2008.
